What you need to know about the role
Our Raw Materials Procurement function is responsible for delivering all bulk raw materials into Immingham Bulk Terminal (IBT) - this includes iron ore and carbon fuels. The supply chain enables the business operations to run at a cost base that provides the best value whilst ensuring security of supply and flexibility.

In this important role you will be responsible for all aspects in the arrangement and operational delivery of ocean freight for the inbound supply of bulk raw materials.

In your role as Inbound Shipping Manager you will;

* Conduct day-to-day chartering related activities.

* Source optimal shipping solution/s

* Negotiation of Charter Party terms and requirements

* Laytime calculations

* Monitor market freight rates movement, provide regular evaluation, and market analysis.

* Vessel arrival optimisation and programming at IBT

* Manage external relationships including, ship brokers, vessel owners, ships agencies, towage provider/s and Associated British Ports (ABP)

* Provide guidance on shipping term/s within Raw Materials contract/s.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive maximum effectiveness and efficiency of processes and deliverables is key to the success of this role.

You will work closely with external and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of raw material supply and the lowest possible cost base for British Steel.
