Are you an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic airport environment? Join our team at Edinburgh Airport and become a vital part of our specialist team working on heavy airport vehicles and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a variety of specialist heavy airport vehicles and plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, conduct troubleshooting, and implement effective repair solutions.
* Conduct scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
* Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure vehicles and equipment meet operational requirements and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment history.
* Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience as a Heavy Vehicle Technician, which can include experience with HGVs, PCVs, municipal vehicles, or military vehicles.
* Strong mechanical and electrical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and vehicle electronics.
* Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software for vehicle troubleshooting and repair.
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
* Relevant technical qualifications and certifications are desirable.
