With more than 200 professionals, our Investment Solutions department is responsible for providing sophisticated and customized investment proposals to our private clients and within this context we are looking for a Senior Investment Advisor to be based inBrussels:

Mission:

The responsibilities of the Senior Investment Advisor consist of activities associated with client portfolio management and general administrative tasks.

1. Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Construction

    Manage the advisory portfolios of local based clients. Represent and articulate the views and initiatives of the Group's global investment teams, including tactical positions, trading ideas and key messages to clients.
  • Portfolio ImplementationWork closely with bankers to ensure that products and strategies are being implemented in portfolios that are for advisory clients.Work closely with the open architecture fund research team to select the most appropriate external managers in line with the house strategy.Build interaction between product teams across the Group to strengthen relationships with the client base and provide internal education on products to bankers.Develop investment ideas and proposals
  • Portfolio MonitoringOversee client portfolios to ensure that clients and bankers are aware of portfolio developments.Recommend appropriate satellite investments to bankers for clients.
  • Client Support / RelationshipProduce client review packs.Support private bankers in pitching for business.Attend client meetings in support of the Private Bankers in order to develop more detailed understanding of the client's needs.Attend regular meetings or conference calls with other members of the Private Banking team as requested and as appropriate to review market strategy and exchange ideas any other pertinent information. dealt with appropriately.
  • 2. Management and Reporting

  • Reporting to the local head of Portfolio Manager
  • Delegate suitable tasks and responsibilities to Investment Analyst regarding the management of advisory portfolios.
  • 3. Counterparties and clients

  • Key Internal Contacts: Private bankers, Portfolio Managers and Head of Portfolio Managers, Middle office, Compliance, Chief Operating Officer, GVA Product Team,
  • Key External Contacts: Private Clients, Family Offices, Portfolio Managers, Sales
  • 4. Functional Responsibilities

  • Respect the investment directives and the implementation of the management mandate
  • Take in charge the supervision and management of the investment conditions and obligations
  • Ensure supervision and follow-up of the client profiles and adhere to understand risks to the Company and the client.
  • Participate in the drawing up of procedures as and when requested.

  • External: Bloomberg, Market Data Systems
  • Skills and knowledge requirements

  • Qualifications /education required :
  • Business School Master or University degree in Commercial Sciences, Business Economics, 'Applied) Economic sciences, CFA (or equivalent certification) is an asset

    Minimum A level or relevant experience

  • Experience required :
  • Extensive experience as Private Banking and / or Asset Management.

    Minimum 10 years of experience in portfolio management, Financial Analyst, Credit Analyst or Strategist.

  • Competencies / soft skills :
  • Cross Assets view and good analytical skills

    High sense of communication (consistent & simple)

    Flexible to be able to work on various different pitches / Proposals / review across different client groups

  • Competencies / technical skills:
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets in general, fiscally efficient portfolio management

    Strong analytical capacity

    Solid portofolio construction skills and understanding of asset allocation

    Strong knowledge of Office products (Excel, Word, ) and information programs (Bloomberg, Reuters Knowledge, etc. ).

    Good macro/strategy skills and understanding of product / market / credit risks pertaining to clients

    Ability to identify business opportunities relevant to the client

  • Language skills :
  • Fluent in Dutch and English and a good knowledge of French.
