Mechanical Inspector/Piping required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Dubai.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed inspections of mechanical systems and components to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
Perform tests on mechanical equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
Record inspection results, maintain accurate logs, and prepare detailed reports on findings.
Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Verify that materials and workmanship meet quality standards.
Provide technical support and guidance to engineering and construction teams.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, suggesting effective solutions.
Coordinate with other inspectors, contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless inspection processes.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, including writing comprehensive inspection reports.
Suggest improvements to inspection processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Train junior inspectors and other personnel on inspection techniques and safety practices.
Ensure that inspection tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
Use specialized tools and equipment to conduct thorough inspections.
Keep up-to-date with changes in industry standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.Requirements
3+ years' experience in the offshore wind industry.
Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and/or Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP3.1/3.2)
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, engineering principles, and relevant codes and standards.
Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify even minor issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and interacting with stakeholders.
Strong analytic skills to assess inspection results and make sound judgements.
Familiarity with inspection software, report writing tools, and general computer literacy.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM).
