Project Engineer

Days (Monday - Thursday, Early-finish Friday)
£40,000 + Benefits
We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field. Reporting directly to the Production Director you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of the projects within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team. Role Description:
o Participate in the Factory Strategic Planning programme working towards the site masterplan.
o Be able to identify and suggest research opportunities for improvements, including investigating detailed requirements, implementation and cost versus benefits.
o Assist the preparation of Capital Authorisation Request applications to include the objectives, scope, budget and timing of an investment project.
o Deliver small to medium scale projects from end to end in line with the companies project management methodology SHERPA.
o Prepare documentation in line with the companies project management requirements for governance, compliance and qualification processes.
o Control capital investment budget through from purchase order request through to invoice authorisation.
o Coordinate & communicate directly with key stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure a comprehensive handover & completion at each phase of projects end to end.
o Prepare and implement coaching/training of staff on new project implementations.
o Support other departments, where requested, including leadership of multi-disciplined teams during problem solving exercises and providing technical expertise/assistance.
o Ensure Safety, Quality and Food Safety best practices and procedures are followed at all times.
Skills/Qualifications:
o General process knowledge (PFD, P&ID) on food processing (filling, sterilising, mixing, primary and secondary packaging).
o Detailed engineering knowledge of (Flow, Pressure, Temperature, pumps, valves, instruments, piping, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid dynamics).
o Evidence delivery of previous projects showing calculations for design, change management and process mapping.
o Experience with engineering in food industry (Hygiene, design, aseptic).
o CAD experience would be a benefit.
o Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology would be a benefit.
