Role – Environment, Health & Safety Officer - c£38k + Bonus + Benefits

* This role is 80/20 ratio of Environment vs Health & Safety and therefore must have strong Environment experience
* Monday – Friday (finish at 12.00pm on Fridays)!
* Must have experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Our client is a leader in their field and due to continued growth are now looking for an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join their team. You will play a critical frontline role ensuring the safety of all employees, customers, and visitors to the company and will work closely with the business to ensure they comply with environmental regulations and standards to minimise their environmental impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Promote an environmental, health and safety culture
* Ensure the Company’s rules, policies and procedures are compliant with current environmental, health and safety legislation
* Ensure that an Environmental Management System is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO 14001.
* Report to top management on the performance of H&S metrics and the Environmental Management System including recommendations for improvements.
* Identify and implement energy saving improvements for the whole facility in line with environmental targets.
* Ensure compliance with H&S legislation across the business, including advising on best working practices and toolbox talks
* Fully investigate all claims related to personal injury and collect data, witness statements, evidence etc. to help support each case.
* Ensure generic and specific risk assessments are conducted for all areas of the business.
* Assist in designing, implementing, and delivering environmental, health and safety related training.
* Identify all current waste produced on site and ensure suitable containment before collection or disposal and implement a waste reduction program for all waste products and utilities.
Skills and Experience
* IOSH / NEBOSH qualification (General / Environmental / Fire)
* ISO14001 auditor ideal
* Qualified First Aider/First Aider Trainer ideal
* Qualified Fire Marshall ideal
* Previous experience within a health and safety environment essential
* Engineering / Manufacturing background ideal
* Must be fully computer literate, particularly regarding Microsoft Excel and Word, and PowerPoint
* Knowledge of ISO14001 ideal
