The Company

A leading chemicals company in Ayrshire who work on FMCG products are looking for a Development Chemist to join their team to work on the development of formulations for new and existing products.

This is a great time to join this growing, friendly team. The site is accessible by car and has on-site parking.

The Job

The successful Development Chemist will work on all aspects of product development in a fast-paced laboratory and manufacturing environment. You will have be working on the following tasks:

Attend client meetings to establish project requirements and timelines
Keep clients updated on progress, offering advice where required
Work on initial formulation of product samples to meet client briefs
Carry out testing on the sample
Troubleshoot any issues in the initial formulation, coming up with alternatives where necessary
Work on scale up of sample to full-scale production. Scheduling production runs and ensuring testing is being carried out
Ensure product meets regulatory requirements

Your Experience

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

A track record of working as a Development Chemist ideally within the Chemicals or FMCG sector with formulation expertise
Experience in a fast-paced industrial laboratory/manufacturing environment
Strong people skills with experience interacting with clients
A minimum of a BSc in Chemistry or a related subject
