(Sr) Food Science and Technology Specialist in Utrecht

We are currently seeking a (Sr) Food Science and Technology Specialist on behalf of our client in Utrecht. Our client specializes in Medical Nutrition, aiming to improve the quality of life for individuals with specific dietary needs. As a (Sr) Food Science and Technology Specialist, you will play an essential role in our client's Food Science & Technology Laboratory. Your responsibilities will include conducting physical-chemical product analyses, supporting new product development projects, and providing guidance on the startup of shelf life studies.
More in-depth, you will:

• Conduct, document, and report physical-chemical analyses of products.
• Assist in developing and enhancing new products.
• Offer input and guidance on product development during the initiation of new shelf life studies.
• Analyze results and provide recommendations to Product and Process Developers.
• Manage RPAs (Robotic Process Automation) and other automation tools.
• Assess and refine analysis methodologies.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Product and Process Development, as well as external laboratories and suppliers.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and compliance within the Food Science and Technology Laboratory according to ISO 9001 standards.
• Oversee powder shelf life studies.
• Assist in product development activities during tasting sessions.
• Report to the team leader on shelf life matters.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, laboratory analysis, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting physical-chemical analyses within the food industry.
• Strong interest in and familiarity with physical-chemical analyses and dairy technology.
• Able to thrive in a dynamic organizational environment, collaborating across different functional areas.
• Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in English.
• Proficient in Excel, with a preference for some experience in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications).
• Possesses strong organizational skills, takes initiative, prioritizes client satisfaction, has a keen eye for quality, exhibits analytical and creative thinking, maintains an open and enthusiastic attitude, and works effectively as part of a team.
