What you'll be doing

You will assist with the provision of technical support to the Renewals Manager for the

planning and delivery of track renewals ensuring all technical aspects of the works

comply with relevant Network Rail Group, Line Standards and the current safety legislation. In addition, you will: 

Provide assistant technical support in the detailed planning and execution of all

of Track Renewal and Enhancement Works as allocated by the Assistant Renewals Manager;
Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office, acting as CRE where required;
Attend relevant meetings including Whiteboard/Stage Gate meetings as required;
Manage the work to meet agreed financial targets, performance KRAs and other

KPI’s;
Manage works in compliance with the CRSA technical specifications, processes

and procedures and Network Rail Group and Line Standards;
Undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on

site, preparation of documents;
Ensure the preparation and submission of Bar Charts/Time Chainage charts, WPP’s, task Briefs and other site documentation for all works;
Undertake safety inspection as stipulated in Alliance procedures and

requirements;
Submit Daily Work Returns (Planned v Actuals) in a timely manner.

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will have the following: 

Good knowledge of Track Renewals Disciplines;
Good knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations, including Group Standards;
Knowledge of financial controls;
Excellent interpersonal, communication and person management skills;
Ability to drive;
ONC in an Engineering discipline or equivalent or working towards;
PTS and COSS;
Proficient is the use of 2D & 3D control for excavation & reballasting;
Suitably skilled and familiar with all computer controlled tamping systems;
Stressing certification L1, L2 & L3;
LSHB L2 minimum.
