Our client, a well-established manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team due to retirement. They pride themselves on their commitment to providing exceptional financial services and fostering a positive work environment.

Answering phone calls and addressing inquiries
Managing obligations to suppliers, customers, and third-party vendors
Processing bank deposits and receipts, liaising with our Group Head Office and Manager
Reconciling financial statements
Preparing, sending, and storing invoices
Contacting clients and sending reminders for timely payments
Submitting tax forms, such as VAT
Identifying and addressing discrepancies
Reporting on the status of accounts payable and receivable
Updating internal accounting databases and spreadsheetsEssential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Proven work experience as an Accounts Administrator or similar role
Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
Hands-on experience with accounting software, particularly Sage
Advanced knowledge of Excel for financial formulas and creating spreadsheets
Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
Good organisational and time-management abilitiesDesirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Experience using payroll systems, specifically Sage
Familiarity with calculating statutory contributions like pensions and National Insurance- Accounting software: Sage and Microsoft Excel.
