Must have at least 6 months care experience
To provide a caring and supportive environment for young people that respects all lifestyle and cultural needs.
To promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person
To ensure the rights and needs of the young people are met as fully as possible whether emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural or social and to promote and maintain positive anti-discrimination practices
Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people that will promote their sense of security
To provide firm, consistent and fair boundaries in respect of the behaviour of young people.
To ensure that appropriate medical help is provided in cases of illness and accidents
To promote the development of a healthy lifestyle for young people
To organise and participate in group activities
To assist in the provision and preparation of meals in the home
To undertake and promote domestic duties in the home and ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the home and grounds
To encourage young people to develop their full educational and vocational attainment
