A Manufacturing Engineer at CDC is a self-starter who works toward implementing an overall strategic plan. The Manufacturing Engineer performs engineering work related to designing and developing of equipment and processes to support the manufacturing of Company products while supporting the lean initiatives of the organization.

What you'll be doing:
-      Lead efforts to develop new process technology to support manufacturing of existing
products and implementing new product designs into production.
-      Complete special project/tasks and duties as assigned associated with product
and equipment design and testing.
-      Prioritize own work to meet required schedules and product release deadlines.
-      Support lean activities that may include working towards six-sigma initiatives.
-      Complete weekly and monthly Progress Reports and various other reports as needed
-      Support the daily requirements of production including but not limited to:
Process deviation request              
Process Engineering Change Requests to procedures and drawings
Provide technical support to quoting and estimating on product and manufacturing information
Support Codes and Standards (e.i. API, NFPA)
Support the improvement of production KPIs: OTD, First pass yield, NCR pareto, Shop efficiency
Provide technical support to Design Engineering team on product structures and manufacturing routers.
Write and update manufacturing procedures and engineering procedures
Support Supply Chain Department in the development/training of new and existing suppliers
Design tools and equipment
Provide training for production personnel on manufacturing processes
Process Returned Material Requests
Coordinate training and standard manufacturing processes with remote site
Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need
Requirements
Education, Work Experience and Skills
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent working experience in related field.
One year minimum and 2-4 years mechanical design experience preferred.
Operational knowledge of machinery and prior work experience with related equipment and tooling.
Uses inspection tools and various measurement devices, including calipers and micrometers.
Uses intermediate drafting skills and advanced math skills.
Has good communication skills.
Uses inspection tools and various measurement devices, including calipers and micrometers.
Microsoft Office, MS Project, solid modeling CAD
Automation and basic PLC programming a plus  
Knowledge of welding processes and weld qualifications a plus
Willingness and ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies.
Attention to detail.
Concern for quality, accuracy and safety.
Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
Ability to work well with others, including subordinates, peers, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors
While performing the essential duties of this job, employee is frequently required to perform various manual labor functions and use hands to type and write.
Using proper lifting techniques, employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Employee is required to sit for extended periods of time and frequently required to walk and stand.
Special vision requirements necessary to effectively perform the essential functions of this job include close vision, ability to see detail, and ability to adjust focus.
