JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting. This includes reconciling bank and investment accounts, assisting with the month-end close process, and providing support for audits and tax preparation. The Staff Accountant has a strong understanding of accounting principles, experience with financial reporting and analysis, and excellent attention to detail.
SOLA IMPACT AND NEW VENTURE
SoLa Impact is a real estate private equity firm with a double bottom line strategy focused on preserving, rehabbing, and building high-quality affordable housing in Black and brown communities. SoLa is Southern California's largest for-profit affordable housing developer and is currently in construction on over 2,000 affordable housing units across Southern California. SoLa currently owns and manages over $1.2 billion of multifamily assets, almost all of which are in low-income, Black and brown communities.
SoLa's new venture is reinventing multifamily housing creation by building the first and only standardized modular housing factory. The new venture is a comprehensive manufacturing system designed, engineered, and built to consistently produce a high-quality, low-cost, net-zero ready, and most importantly, standardized, modular housing product. This a Black-owned and operated business based in Southern California that will deliver between 1,000 – 1,500 modular housing units per year by 2025. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Participate in the preparation of financial statements including: balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports;
Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses;
Perform various tests of revenues, assets, liabilities, and disbursements;
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts including banks, fixed assets, prepaids, liabilities
Analyze General Ledger accounts
Support select projects while working as a team member, building solid relationships with team members, and proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback
Performs other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
2+ years prior accounting experience.
Associates degree or higher in accounting or related field.
Proficiencty in Microsoft Excel.
Strong PC skills, including NetSuite and other internet driven software programs.
Understand cost accounting/managerial accounting.
Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills with clients, management and team members.
Dedicated to teamwork.
Sales Tax preparation experience a plus.
