You will work closely with senior management, external auditors, and tax authorities to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
In this leadership role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical tax, analytical, operational, management, and client service skills with various clients including but not limited to: HNWI, small businesses, large organizations and real estate clients
Serve as a trusted advisor for your client base staying abreast of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts
Manage compliance and consulting in areas of Section 1031 exchange, Section 754 step-up, Section 163(j) interest limitation, Section 1231 gain/loss calculations as well as an ability to analyze and implement certain aspects of partnership/LLC operating agreements with respect to tax applications.
Own the client relationships and all delivered work.
Strategizing with Managing Directors regarding planning.
Provide clients with recommendations and guidance on how to achieve their goals and assist in identifying opportunities for growth with clients.
Researching tax and accounting issues and providing guidance to clients.
Working closely with staff, and assisting senior management in mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
Lead strategy sessions with Managing Directors regarding planning.
Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities
Review and file tax returns in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field is preferred
7 years experience in public accounting or related field
5 years supervisory
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
Strong understanding of tax planning, research, estate and gift taxes, business valuation and consulting.
Must be able to travel based on business needs
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
