Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This individual will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, analysis, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide insights on financial performance.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee the general ledger and ensure proper recording of transactions.
Perform reconciliations of accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making.
Provide insights on trends, variances, and key performance indicators.
Develop ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
Coordinate external audits and provide support as needed.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Implement best practices and recommend system enhancements as necessary.
Actively participate in cross-functional initiatives to drive organizational success.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
