Joyful Jobs is recruiting an Operations Manager on behalf of Fountain of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Operations Manager is responsible for leadership, administration and support of business and ministry operations for Fountain of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church.
 
Job Description:
The position is exempt (hourly) part-time, 19 hours per week. Workdays are flexible but must be a regular schedule of 3 weekdays. Starting salary range of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour is based on qualifications, experience and education. The Operations Manager reports to the Board of Directors through the Treasurer.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direction and organization to the weekday operation of the business office; supervise maintenance and security staff as needed.
Support the church in planning, evaluating, and conducting a comprehensive plan of business operation including scheduling and set up of campus facilities for ministry, leasing, and rentals.
Oversee all contract aspects of lessees of campus facilities.
Regularly review wage and salary structures, personnel policies, practices and benefits. Keep all employee records up to date.
Oversee payroll process. Monitor payroll records by ensuring changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title and department/division transfer(s) are accurate and timely. 
Periodically evaluate the insurance needs of the church.
Serve as purchasing agent according to church policy.
Interact with contracted accountant staff to provide flow and record keeping of documents for accounts payable functions. 
Provide overall supervision of offering and donation processing in collaboration with financial staff. 
Help prepare the annual church budget in collaboration with financial staff. Gather and compile information from church leaders and staff of budget requests for presentation to the Board of Directors.
Maintain inventory of church owned property and equipment.
Serve as on-site IT Manager, working with outside support company as needed. Review hardware and software needs of employees and upgrade as necessary. 
Keep system and digital documents always backed up. 
Ensure compliance with all church policies and procedures, applicable federal, state and city laws.
Collaborate with the Ministry Team for smooth interface of church business and ministry function as needed.
Attend monthly board meetings in the evenings.
Administer on-site columbarium.
 
Experience, knowledge and attributes:
 
Significant experience in Administration. Five years prior experience preferred.
Knowledge of all areas related to business growth, including finance, sales, information technology, property management and human resources.
Effective listener with good communication skills, both orally and written. 
Competent administrator with quality leadership skills.
Experienced and proficient with computer hardware and software including Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn and operate other software platforms.
Nonprofit experience preferred.
