Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £75 – £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time
GSL Education are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Secondary Teaching Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision located in York, North Yorkshire, starting immediately. The position is suited for Graduates considering a career in the education sector, experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
Secondary Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and promoting independent thinking.
To support the class teacher in the delivery of a creative curriculum, outdoor curriculum, or play-based learning curriculum.
To work in partnership with other support staff, teachers, and outside agencies to ensure each child receives the best education and support.
To track progress and developmental markers.
Foster a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a love for learning.
Secondary Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Be educated to Degree level or hold a relevant Level 2 qualification or higher in childcare.
Have a clear understanding, knowledge, or hands-on experience of supporting people with autism, learning difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health needs or speech, language, and communication needs.
Be a flexible, dynamic, and reliable practitioner.
Have a genuine desire to work in the education sector.
Have a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one. DBS sponsorship is available for this post.
