Our client is a respected independent construction consultancy based in York. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost management and a keen eye for detail. This role involves working on diverse projects, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact and advance your career within a supportive and forward-thinking construction consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
Manage the tender process, including the preparation and evaluation of tender documents
Perform cost control and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle
Prepare and analyse project valuations and progress reports
Handle contract administration and dispute resolution
Provide advice on procurement strategy and contractual matters
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Key requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role
Experience of preparing, monitoring, and controlling budgets within a value for money framework
Demonstrate strong skills in budgetary profiling and cost control
Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Strong communication and negotiation abilities
Must have a driving licence and have access to own car
On offer for the Quantity Surveyor:
An above market rate salary of £35,000 - £42,000 depending on experience.
Pension contributions of 3% matched
27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
Hybrid working arrangements, typically 3 days in office and 2 days WFH
