Fabrication Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Germany.
Responsibilities
Ensuring that the respective FOU Fabrication package delivery complies with all relevant HSE&S, QA, permit, certification, technical and project requirements..
Review and comment the submitted designs and technical specifications.
Ensure specifications and design are meeting the targets.
Actively involve other packages to align and clarify interface issues together with the Interface Engineers.
Provide technical and implementation advice and support to the Package Manager.
Adhere to the Project Management Plan and all relevant project procedures with their respective forms and templates.
Use the provided project document control system.
The technical expert for the relevant work package.
Technical coordination of subcontractors.
Organisation of document reviews and comments formal aspects of the design and documentation as well as prepares proposals for de- sign decisions and recommendations.
Identification and mitigation technical risk and ensures the design enables safe and efficient manufacturing, installation, commissioning, testing and operation.
Responsible to organise technical audits and inspections during the manufacturing process and providing engineering support to the installation, commissioning and O&M teams.Requirements
Engineering degree in civil, structural or marine engineering, naval architecture, or equivalent.
5-10 years of working experience as a civil engineer within the offshore industry preferably experience with German codes and standards.
Knowledge of relevant European and international codes and offshore standards.
Sound knowledge of structural steel design.
Experience with welding of steel materials and fabrication of Monopiles and Secondary Steel.
Experience with manufacturing and offshore installation survey/surveillance.
Understanding of certification and consent processes in Germany.
The capability to work within a team and with specialist consultants with competing demands from the project.
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively within a team.
Fluent in English speaking/writing.
