We are exciting to be working with a leading client based in Wetherby in their search for a highly experienced Wordpress Web Developer for Fixed Term 6 Month Contract to develop a new website.

Responsibilities

Develop bespoke solutions using advanced WordPress functionalities such as Custom Post Types, WordPress Loops, and Template Hierarchy.
Implement responsive, device-led web interfaces with Elementor Page Builder, adhering to modern UI/UX best practices. – Developing equally for desktop and mobile functionality.
Collaborate with commercial, sales, and marketing teams to refine website functionality, aligning developments with business objectives.
Utilise front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery) and PHP to create engaging user-centric web experiences.
Optimise WordPress and WooCommerce databases to enhance site performance and scalability.
Maintain code integrity using Git for version control and collaborative development.
Design and implement e-commerce-focused features that enable users to easily browse products, create wishlists, and submit enquiries seamlessly. While direct sales functionality may not be required, the principles of e-commerce web design to enhance user experience and engagement are essential.
Track development progress and adhere to project timelines using project management tools like YouTrack and Basecamp.
Incorporate user feedback through tools such as Hotjar and Marker.io for ongoing UI/UX improvement.
Help the development team conduct A/B testing for web design and layout optimisation, analysing outcomes to guide further enhancements.
Ensure the website adheres to the latest security protocols, safeguarding against potential threats.
Incorporate SEO best practices to enhance the website’s search engine ranking and visibility.

Skills/attributes required

Demonstrable expertise in WordPress development, evidenced by a strong portfolio – must show examples of relevant projects.
Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience, with in-depth knowledge of WordPress, Elementor, Advanced Custom Fields, and WooCommerce.
Experience in database optimisation for WordPress environments and an understanding of WordPress hosting on AWS.
Exceptional design skills, capable of creating visually appealing and functional web experiences.
Effective communication skills, facilitating collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Independent work ethic, with the ability to carry design tasks from concept to completion, whilst contributing actively to team discussions.
 Adaptability, ready to adjust designs based on analytical data and team feedback, with a continuous focus on improving the user experience.
Ensure the website adheres to the latest security protocols, safeguarding against potential threats.
Incorporate SEO best practices to enhance the website’s search engine ranking and visibility.
Experience with e-commerce platforms or plugins (even if not directly selling products) to understand user journey and wishlist functionalities. Familiarity with WooCommerce or similar plugins that can be adapted for enquiry-based systems would be advantageous.
Proficiency working WordPress CMS build that include Woocommerce.
Proficiency with web design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch).
Experience with project management tools (YouTrack / Basecamp)
Experience with CRO tools (Hotjar, Marker.io) for integrating user feedback into design decisions.
Commitment to integrating feedback to refine and improve design outputs.
Dedication to maintaining high standards of design quality, ensuring all elements contribute positively to user experience and project goals.
