TeacherActive is looking for a SEND Teacher in Doncaster to have the opportunity to work in a specialist school that caters to young people who have Autism, Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs. This school offers residential care and education to 8–19-year-olds with special educational needs and offers their students a sports hall and fitness suite, a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory room and horticultural. We can offer both full-time and part-time days.

As a Teacher your responsibilities will include assisting the teacher with lessons, working 1:1 with SEN students who have complex needs and creating a calm and purposeful learning environment. We build great relationships with our schools and support staff so we can find the best placements for you. We are looking for SEN TA / SEN Teaching Assistant to cover day to day, short-term and long-term placements supporting children with their education. The ideal SEN TA / SEN Teaching Assistant should have the following:

Level 2/ 3 in a relevant qualification and/or experience in a care, support work or school environment
Good communication skills
A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
