Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a leading, national utilities management company in the recruitment of a Buyer.

In this role you will be responsible for the development, management and performance of Suppliers including the identification of further opportunities for the businesses, including OPEX and Capital Programme expenditure, enabling out client to achieve business targets and objectives.

Key duties:

* Provide a high degree of customer service to internal stakeholders and colleagues

* To produce Supplier Spend Reports and undertake effective analysis to identify improvement opportunities and Vendor base gaps

* Manage the supplier onboarding process

* Research and promote Procurement best practice

* Benchmark our performance with leading edge Organisations including obtaining market intelligence regarding key spend areas

* Develop and implement improvement plans

* Support with the negotiation, implementation and management of Supplier Frameworks and contracts – aligned to Business requirements

* Conduct Commercial negotiations

* Support the Lead Buyer with delivery of NEC ECC contracts to support the Capital programme

* Identify and implement supply chain improvement initiatives including supplier development, alternative sourcing strategies and alternative ways of working

* Support the Lead Buyer in management, and mitigation of risk in Supplier arrangements

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

* Demonstrable experience in similar Procurement role

* Experience of managing contract and framework arrangements

* Negotiation with both suppliers and internal stakeholders

* Ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally

* Technical knowledge of good procurement practice

* Understanding of Commercial Contracts and contract formation

* Proven ability to achieve significant savings, improvements to service, timeliness, and quality in spend category areas

* Strong analytical and Excel skills

* Good working knowledge of Excel & other Microsoft Office Products

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
