Position Overview

Our client is looking to appoint an Electrical Maintenance Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will cover all aspects of electrical equipment including reactive and planned maintenance inspections, electrical component replacement/repair, monitoring plant conditions, reporting defects and diagnosing and repairing faults as they occur. You will team up with our Mechanically bias maintenance team to ensure the site runs smoothly. The role will be an interesting and challenging one with no two days the same, they are looking for someone who is team orientated and would like to put they own stamp on the role.

Key Responsibilities

* High standard of health and safety working practise.

* Identify and address electrical issues promptly and efficiently to quickly reduce production downtime.

* Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and optimise performance.

* Conduct routine inspections and assessment of process equipment.

* Work closely with the engineering team and assist with any faults that arise.

* Monitor and control spare parts needed to ensure production up time.

* Assist with project work and management of electrical contractors on site.

* The planning and performing of electrical maintenance work to be carried out during our biannual shutdowns.

* Collaborate with other team members to implement improvements and upgrades.

* Training of engineering apprentice.

Requirements

* Apprenticeship Trained

* City & Guilds/NVQ Level3/BTEC

* Strong knowledge and understanding of Drives, PLC’s, inverters, sensors, and motors.

* Experience of reactive electrical maintenance of a live production line.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

* Some Mechanical knowledge and willingness to help with mechanical breakdowns.

* The ability and willingness to work additional hours for breakdowns and time sensitive project work.

* IT Skills.
