Currently looking to speak to joining engineers to join a client of mine in Wolverhampton on a long term contract, outside ir35. 
Scope of Work
Work with a team to direct and manage line builder to complete all feasibility testing for all joining technologies prior to start of commissioning. Advise PD of any issues and co-ordinate with CAE for any joint strength data. Monitor and report process designer for all relevant joining technologies (adhesive, rivet,EJOT/EJOWELD/ARPLAS and welding) allocations. Ensure documentation required is available and Process Designer is updated with the latest parameters and feedback from technology testing / reviews.
Raising / tracking and liaising with PD with regards to deviations.
Drive line builders to achieve weld expulsion, adhesive bead optimisation and adhesive bead expulsion levels that do not contaminate tooling and joining equipment. Support activities and ensure administration tasks have been completed.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Coordinate joining activities, review and buy off as required joint conditions as part of the phase activities.
• Review teardown data and coordinate with onsite support to complete activities to optimise the process.
• Provide technical expertise to team problem solving activities to accurately identify root cause and corrective actions.
• Assist with weekly reviews with on-site support and manage activities to achieve green status
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
• Support the delivery and planning of joining options analysis and evaluation together with proposal presentation to senior stakeholders on Business Processes for Joining and related improvements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Thorough understanding of Adhesive, Tucker/Henrob Self Piercing riveting, Bosch/Matuschek Resistance welding systems.
• Experience of reviewing buy off events for Adhesive DAB and teardown. Teardown analysis for Riveting and Resistance welding, familiar with Bosch/Matuschek welding equipment and ARO guns to optimise process and reduce expulsion in the body shop.
• Previous experience in Joining technologies with development and implementation experience.
• Technical background in Joining Technologies working at a technical level with ANY of the following technologies, GTAW, GMAW, LASER, Self-Piercing Riveting, Resistance Spot Welding, Friction Stir Welding applications, Adhesive, Flow drive screw applications.
• Experience of resolving key constraints and demonstrate improvements through root cause analysis.
• Experience of specifying and installing new equipment
• Understanding of vision systems (Coherix, ISRA etc.) and itsintegration with PLC and robots (ABB)
• Previous experience in Supervising Vendor Joining, test house and equipment suppliers.
• Understanding of Joining systems and metrics
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
