HGV Mechanic

Extra Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic for their well-established longstanding client in Wolverhampton. The ideal candidate will deal with the maintenance and repairs of HGV vehicles. The work will be completed in accordance with industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals.

Responsibilities of a HGV Mechanic

Maintain, inspect, repair, and test the vehicles

Prepare the vehicle ready for annual MOT inspection

Carry out safety inspections to all HGV Vehicles to VOSA inspection manual standards

Attend vehicle breakdowns and diagnose and repair faults as required

Complete all company paperwork as required daily

To maintain work areas in a safe and clean condition

To ensure that all relevant legislation and Health and Safety procedures are adhered

Details of an HGV Mechanic:

Duration: Permanent

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary: £20.00 per hour (Negotiable)

Hours: 7.30am to 4.30 (40 hour week)

HGV Mechanic Skills and Experience:

Experience working on refuse Vehicles

Full driving Licence

Minimum 5 years’ experience of working with all aspects of HGV and light commercial maintenance and repair

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and to set deadlines and prioritise tasks

Irtec License or Equivalent

PC Literate
