Elevate your engineering career with a pivotal role at a globally esteemed manufacturing and supply company, based in Coventry. This esteemed organisation is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to become an integral part of their dynamic team, ensuring the seamless operation of their cutting-edge factory machinery. Within this role you will cover either a 6am-3pm shift or 3pm-12am shift Monday-Friday.
As a crucial player in the maintenance team, the successful candidate will be tasked with swiftly addressing machinery breakdowns, meticulously recording both the duration of repairs and the components utilised. This role is not just about fixing what's broken; it's about pre-empting issues before they arise. The engineer will be responsible for implementing a robust preventative maintenance strategy, managing mechanical, electrical, and fully automated equipment breakdowns to optimise efficiency and productivity.
Reporting directly to the maintenance manager, the engineer will conduct weekly inspections of automated lines, maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, and manage the issuance of spare parts. The role demands a proactive approach to routine maintenance and a commitment to keeping the factory's maintenance workshops organised and well-stocked.
Communication is key, as the engineer will regularly liaise with factory team leaders. Adherence to safety is paramount; ensuring all machine guarding and safety systems are operational is a fundamental responsibility. The role requires flexibility, with the willingness to accommodate weekend work when necessary.
Candidates should possess a robust set of skills and knowledge, including the ability to thrive under pressure, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of engineering functions. Strong people management skills, the initiative to work independently or collaboratively, and a keen awareness of health and safety legislation are essential.
Qualifications and experience in the realm of engineering are fundamental. Candidates should hold relevant GCSEs, City and Guilds certifications in either electrical installation, mechanical principles, electrical testing, or engineering. Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, Siemens PLC fault diagnosis, and the ability to interpret various electrical wiring diagrams are essential. Experience with CNC machinery and automated production lines will be considered an asset.
