Painter Brothers is one of the UK's leading specialist in structural steel manufacture. We have the capacity to produce in excess of 15,000 tones of steelwork each year. Our 50,000m2 site has a wide range of machinery meaning we can manufacture and store any type of structural steelwork, including galvanised specialist structural steelwork.

As the UK’s largest fabricator of towers for the overhead power transmission network, we are embarking on a period of considerable growth. With the government committed to delivering Net Zero by 2050, the investment in electricity infrastructure over the next 10 years will be higher than any period since the construction of the national grid in the 1960’s. What you'll be doing

Operate factory machinery including both manual & Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery in a safe and efficient manner and to the required specification as part of the steel fabrication team.
Operate both CNC and manual equipment to fabricate steelwork.
Provide general support to all operations in the Fabrication, Bundling & Overhead Line Stores area by moving materials and performing general duties as required.
Work safely at all times following risk assessments and work instructions and maintain a clean working environment.
Embrace our Zero Harm approach to safety.
Produce quality product in line with business quality management system.
Work effectively and efficiently to meet production demands.
Contribute to our continuous improvement approach and actively help to reduce waste in our processes.

Who we're looking for

Candidates must be positive and enthusiastic and support a 'can do' attitude.
Candidates must be reliable and support a continuous improvement culture
Willingness to learn and embrace new ideas.
Ability to work as part of a team and be self-motivated
Able to use air and electric hand tools and grinders.
Able to read drawings and understand and complete documentation relating to processes within the workplace.
Have a good understanding of Health and Safety and maintain and safe and clean working environment.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

Experience in a Steel Fabrication environment.
Experience in working in a Factory environment using CNC/Manual machinery
Experience in the operation of overhead cranes and plant.
Experience in forklift truck and telehandler operations
Computer literate to read stock sheets.
