Blown Film Extrusion Operators

Shawthorpe are seeking experienced Blown Film Extrusion Operators to join the Operations Team based at their manufacturing site in Telford, Shropshire.
Job Purpose
To assist the Team Leader (or appointed deputy) in the fulfilment of the key responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Using the works order as a guide correctly connect the blender stations to the correct material supply (silo/day bins etc).
* Set up and/or check the blender to ensure correct components are being used in the correct proportions in line with the requirements of the works order.
* Set-up the extruder in line with the requirements of the works order.
* Operate the extruder according to training and, running at the required output as reference to the Team Leader.
* Working with other operators, assist in starting–up/carry out job changes/reel changes on other machines.
* Carry out and record reel end quality checks.
* Ensure that production data is correctly entered on SAP.
* Communicating to the oncoming operator, any production problems experienced during the shift; any potential production problems and details on any up and coming production change overs.
* Ensure that the production area/machines are kept in a clean condition and tidy condition by following a ‘clean as you go policy’.
* On occasions and as directed by the Extrusion Manager/Team Leader or appointed deputy, operate 2 extrusions machines at the same time.
* Carry out reasonable ad hoc duties as directed by the Extrusion Manager/Team Leader or appointed deputy.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience (Desirable)
* Previous extrusion/ blown film extrusion experience (or similar).
* Shift work
* Health, safety, hygiene, and environmental awareness training.
Working Hours
40 hours per week, 3 shift working, alternating mornings/afternoons/nights.
Monday to Friday 06.00-14.00/ 14.00-22.00/ 22.00-06.00.
Permanent weekend shifts also available.
Benefits / Package
Salary range/ year indication: £28,300 - £36,950 inc' shift allowance and negotiable for exceptional
25 days holiday, increasing to 27 days with service, plus statutory holidays.
