Purchasing Support Wanted!

Based in Wednesbury.

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

£12.50 per hour.

Temporary to Permanent.

Essential Skills:

Analytical Skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate data.Communication & Collaboration

Organises and plans workload to ensure objectives are met and changing priorities are accommodated.Purchasing

Knowledge of purchasing practices and principles. Builds effective relationships with Suppliers.Administration

Establishes priorities and maintains a system of control over them. Completes work accurately and maintains records in a well-organised and accessible way.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce information regarding all KPIs.

Obtain data and communicate performance against targets to team in the agreed format.
To include the following, Stock Availability, Stock Turns, Stock Outs, Stock Levels
Take steps to continually improve data provided to the team.Maintain purchasing data and information.

Expedite outstanding demand from suppliers
Input purchase orders.
Maintain updates from suppliers on the system.
Update KPIs spreadsheets
Support input into ease of movement pricing
Run outstanding purchase orders and cancel off residues.
Update price supports request on the system.
Update booking in sheet working with operations to maintain tonnage allowance.
Daily values updates
Maintain sales order dates to accurately reflect stock availability.
Deal with any incoming referrals and ensure they are updated.Supplier Management

Understand basic principles of return of investment and influencing factors
Manage the forward order process.
Supplier performance analysis to be updated
Manage outstanding order book to ensure timely delivery
Answer queries from suppliers, transport and internal departments and follow up to completion.
Work with suppliers and freight forwarders to maintain accurate information and manage booking in slots.Continually develop your personal skills and knowledge to improve the effectiveness in your role.

Attend training & internal support.
Develop on the job knowledge for products and processes
Support introduction of new IT systems and procedures.

Essential Knowledge:

Product

Knowledge of product properties, characteristics and uses.Quality Standards

Understanding of Quality Management System and knowledge of local objectives and procedures appropriate to the role.Health & Safety

Up-to-date knowledge of Statutory and local Health and Safety procedures.Market

Aware of price trends, lead times and capacity issues.
