The Company

My clients are a very well-established blue chip main contractor operating from their regional offices in Cardiff. They work on projects with values up to £10's of millions in value covering new build, refurbishment, general construction, health care, education, commercial, heritage, conservation and residential sectors. Projects are typically located in the South Wales region.

Due to their continued success in winning work by both tendering and via Framework agreements, with both new and existing clients they are looking to recruit a Document Controller to join their busy and vibrant team on a permanent basis, working on projects generally in and around the South Wales region.

Very competitive negotiable Salary (based on experience)

The Role

You will be working out on site, on exciting projects across many different sectors up to the value of £10’s m, in and around the South Wales region. You must be able to deal with problems in your stride, have a positive outlook and be able to work with individuals of all levels. The first project will be a large project in Cardiff with a duration of around 2 years.

Coordinating all activities related to the document control procedure, including technical documents, drawings, and commercial correspondence, you’ll check that all information complies with specified company formats, templates and standards. Setting up and managing the timely completion of operational and maintenance manuals, you’ll maintain documents and drawings providing a full comprehensive traceability of change.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in document control, working for a main contractor on similar sized projects. As an experienced Document Controller, you will have a good understanding of electronic document management systems and ideally a working knowledge of 4P software, although training can be provided.

Communication, attention to detail and working collaboratively are crucial in this role. You will have a positive attitude and confident approach, being able to communicate with people at all levels. The working environment is second to none, so
