Creative Teaching Assistant

Company: CV-Library
Job type: Contract

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children? Do you have experience working with children, or a passion for education? If so, we are looking for a full-time teaching assistant to join a primary school in Bristol, with the potential for a permanent position.

As a teaching assistant, you will be working closely with the class teacher to support children's learning and development, both inside and outside of the classroom. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of ages, from Reception to Year 6, and assist in the planning and delivery of exciting and engaging lessons.

The ideal candidate will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt. Whilst previous experience in a teaching assistant role is desirable, we also welcome candidates with transferable skills gained from other child-related roles. You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with others, and a genuine passion for working with children.

The role involves working from 8:30am until 3:30pm Monday to Friday, with a negotiable daily rate starting from £85, dependent on experience. We are looking for applicants who are able to start in time for Term 6, continuing into September.

Here are some reasons why we look for creativity in a teaching assistant:

· Lesson planning and delivery: TAs may be involved in developing and delivering lessons or assisting the primary instructor in doing so. Creativity can help in designing engaging and innovative lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and make the material more interesting for students.

· Problem-solving: TAs often encounter various challenges while working with students. Creative thinking allows TAs to approach these challenges from different angles and come up with alternative solutions. It can be especially helpful when students are struggling to understand a concept, as a creative TA may find unique ways to explain and illustrate the material.

· Student engagement: A creative TA can bring enthusiasm and energy to the classroom, fostering an environment that encourages student participation and involvement. Creative teaching methods, such as using games, interactive activities, or multimedia resources, can make the learning process more enjoyable and memorable for students.

· Adapting to different learning styles: Students have diverse learning preferences and abilities. Creativity can help TAs find innovative ways to present information and support students with different learning styles, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to understand and succeed.

· Developing teaching materials: TAs might be responsible for creating or adapting teaching materials, such as worksheets, presentations, or supplemental resources. Creativity can be instrumental in designing visually appealing and engaging materials that enhance the learning experience.
