We are seeking a client-side Project Manager to oversee projects up to £1 million, focusing on alterations and refurbishments within a prestigious estate. This role is integral to the delivery of a significant maintenance plan, funded at £10m per year for a decade. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure colleagues and construction and engineering professionals, managing services through both in-house labour and external contractors.

Day-to-day of the role:

Lead the planning and implementation of projects, ensuring compliance with safety and project management processes.

Define project scope and goals, ensuring clarity and agreement among stakeholders.

Plan and schedule project timelines, aiming for timely delivery.

Coordinate project staff, including in-house resources, external consultants, and contractors/sub-contractors, and manage procurement and contracting processes.

Engage in resource planning and allocation in liaison with key stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including L8 Legionella control, fire risk assessments, asbestos management, scaffolding, LOLER, PUWER, CDM regulations, and contract law (GC works, JCT, NEC4).

Manage risks effectively and conduct necessary risk assessments, ensuring the issuance of relevant permits in line with departmental procedures.

Handle project administration, including budget establishment, procurement compliance, and maintenance of room data sheets, O&M manuals, and health and safety files.

Meet budgetary objectives and service level agreements with other departments.

Provide regular reports to senior management on project progress, health, safety, and compliance with KPIs.

Manage stakeholder and client relationships through regular communication.

Track project performance, report on progress, and manage any arising issues.

Contribute to the goal of achieving zero carbon emissions.

For this role the client is seeking a candidate with proven experience in project management, preferably within a similar setting.

As a Project Manager, you will have a strong understanding of construction and engineering principles and knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.

Excellent organisational and leadership abilities, strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Competency in project management software and tools and a Commitment to sustainability and the institution's zero carbon emissions goal.
