We are seeking a recent Product Design or CAD graduate for an exciting and vibrant construction design & build company.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake early stage designs on small project briefs that come in from the new business team. (SketchUp)
* Understand the concepts and timescales of a contracted brief to assist in the development of project drawings, liaising with members of the design team to gather asset and structural requirements, understanding dimensions, weight limitations and material requirements of a project.
* Prepare design layouts, modify existing designs and integrate bespoke elements using (AutoCAD and SketchUp)
* Identify any potential operational issues on a design and suggest modifications to improve functionality, identifying cost efficiencies where possible.
* Liaise and coordinate with the Site Managers regarding design detailing to ensure buildability.
* Take ownership of the kit listing process, itemising structural elements and extracting quantities from project drawings
* Produce initial presentations for clients including; layout, visuals and clear annotation (keynote / layout)
* Uphold high standards of presentation, following the guidance of senior team members to ensure drawings and designs are delivered to the company standard.
Requirements:
● BSc/BA in 3D Design, architectural or a related field
● Experience with design software (Sketchup & AutoCAD) and editing tools
● Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
● Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
● A keen eye for detail
● Strong time management and multitasking abilities
● Creative and problem-solving skills
