The Business Support Officer plays a key part in supporting the locality and also our Social Work teams in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children, young people, disabled individuals, and their families.
You must be able to work flexibly and adaptably to changing priorities. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in working to agreed standards and deadlines. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Experience in maintaining databases and experience in working with figures is advantageous. A positive and customer focused attitude is essential, as is an understanding of staff motivation and support.
Skills required:
1. Candidate must be experienced within DOLS admin (essential)
2. It is preferred that the candidate has previous experience as a Business Support Officer
3. To be able to work in a fast pace multi matrix management team
4. To be able to multi-task and demonstrate a flexible approach to workload management to ensure various administrative tasks are completed in order of priority
5. To be confident with IT applications such as MS Word and MS Excel
6. To be able to learn and utilise different databases
7. To have a solution focused approach
8. To provide high quality, consistent, efficient and effective support services within agreed timescales.
9. To support various operational and business management teams
10. To provide minute-taking support to various service areas (desirable but training can be provided).
11. To support diary management, including planning and facilitating meetings and events.
12. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this post.
13. To deliver support services that ensure high customer satisfaction.
14. To work effectively as a member of the Business Support Team and collaborate with colleagues where required
Additional Requirements:
* Co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day admin support provision.
* Hold regular one to one supervision sessions
* Hold regular team meetings
* Undertake staff Personal Performance & Development Reviews
* Identify training needs and agree individual training plans
* Manage Attendance, Wellbeing and Leave as required
* Various Finance duties and
* Liaison and Support
