Mechanical Estimator - The Role:
This role entails hands-on involvement in the production of mechanical tenders. You will be tasked with dissecting client inquiries, coordinating or conducting necessary surveys, and generating detailed mechanical estimates, tenders, and quotations to ensure accurate and competitive bidding, ultimately aiming for successful and profitable outcomes.
Additionally, you will play a supportive role in client interactions and presentations during estimation/tender processes, contributing to securing project opportunities. Leveraging relevant industry experience, you will be expected to contribute to the enhancement and streamlining of the estimation process, aiming to improve efficiency, precision, and cost-effectiveness.
The majority of the projects you will be involved in will be in the commercial sector and you will be working within the special works team who more often tha not act as the principal contractor. The values of the projects can vary from £100,000 to £4m.
Mechanical Estimator - Requirements:
As an estimator, a robust understanding of mechanical estimating is essential, alongside previous experience in the construction sector, preferably as an estimator in a similar capacity.
You should possess a well-established background in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Project & Bid Management, enabling you to comprehend and interpret detailed Technical Works Scope documentation, identify, quantify, and address areas of commercial risk effectively.
Moreover, adept planning skills are necessary to manage workloads independently or collaboratively, ensuring adherence to client deadlines.
Remuneration:
The position offers a competitive salary of up to £65k (dependent upon experience), along with a negotiable benefits package
