Our client is based in the Preston Park area of Brighton, East Sussex and are looking for a full time Accounts Assistant, 37.5-hour week, £25-28k doe, to join their small and friendly team. Office based during 3-month probation but with the opportunity to work 2-3 days from home after probationary period.

Naturally, you will have excellent attention to detail, be a team player, flexible, hardworking with an easy-going nature and trustworthy.

Suitable candidates must have good knowledge of Xero and Excel and previous experience in a similar role.

This is a relaxed, dress down office environment, with an office dog for company. Candidates must be happy working in a small office where flexibility is key and the ability to embrace change.

The role is varied with bookkeeping duties alongside assisting with the monthly management accounts, key responsibilities include:

Day to day bookkeeping
Making international bank payments
Processing sales invoices & deposits
Paying and processing company credit cards
Sales ledger & purchase ledger month end processes
Accounts payable & accounts receivable
Bank posting and reconciliations
Assist in production of monthly management accounts for all group companies
Balance sheet reconciliationsSkills / qualifications required

Demonstrable previous bookkeeping experience
Preferably AAT qualified/part qualified
Working knowledge of systems e.g. Xero and ExcelThe full time Accounts Assistant in Brighton offers an immediate start and interviews but will wait notice to get the right person. Working Monday-Friday either 8.30am-5pm or 9am-5.30pm, £25000-£28000 doe, 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and pension. Unfortunately, no parking on site, so must be able to get to Preston Park, Brighton easily. Close to station and on main bus routes. Please be aware our client is not able to offer sponsorship so you must have the right to work in the UK and not need to relocate.
