Manufacturing Manager Position

Jackson Hogg is partnering exclusive with a Hull based manufacturing business in their search for a Manufacturing Manager to ensure the smooth running of their production operation in Hull. You will be a seasoned leader, where you will lead from the front and be highly engaging. Although a level of office / desk-based work will be required, you will be expected to have a high level of presence on the factory floor. You will have gained experience within the manufacturing sector and ideally within an environment where you must be very adaptable and flexible and be able to respond to situations in a very positive and proactive manner.

Manufacturing Manager daily tasks;

* This is a hands-on management role, which will require time managing a busy shop floor manufacturing environment as well as being office based.

* Plan production and deliveries around customer’s requirements.

* You need to ensure the control of the production teams is delivered from the front, with continuous engagement with the staff to ensure they are motivated and will deliver the plan.

* Have full site responsibility for production, maintenance, quality and safety.

* Provide proactive staff support in all areas, providing development, coaching and problem-solving real time.

* Ensure the timely flow of the product through the manufacturing process to ensure all quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved.

* Provide effective delegation to the team of production supervisors.

* Implement and lead on site improvement projects.

* Experienced and proven track record in operational management.

* Be able to build and manage strong a team.

* Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.

* Comfortable joining a senior management team and attending meetings where necessary.

* Provide a proactive and hands on management style.

* Confront issues, problems and improvements positively.

* Improve the working environment and working practices.

Communication is a key function of a Manufacturing Manager

Internal:

• Reports: Managing through others on a day-to-day basis, communicating targets and progress, resolving disputes and ensuring adequate training and development

• Peers: communicating issues/concerns, setting appropriate priorities with available resources, and ensuring the needs of the customers are met.

• Higher Management: ensuring management are fully informed of current and future issues/ resource requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

External:

• Customers and suppliers: occasional contact with customers and suppliers for site visits.

• Auditors: BSI, stock auditors, RHA
