Your day-to-day will be varied and engaging as you support and deliver on a wide range of responsibilities. From overseeing and maintaining critical registers, schedules and databases, preparing reports for board and committee meetings, to attending inquest meetings and ensuring any agreed actions are completed, and more.

This hybrid role is based in Borehamwood, however remote highly-qualified Paralegals who are able to be present in the office periodically will be considered.

As a Paralegal you will:
 

Liaise with coroners’ offices in relation to inquests

Liaise with colleagues across the company to ensure regulatory notification updates are regularly received 

Liaise with insurers, submitting relevant notifications in a timely and accurate manner and ensure claims are effectively and efficiently managed

Prepare witness statements 

Receive legal queries and ensure these are appropriately allocated, including liaising with external advisers

Manage and oversee claims made against the company, including employer’s liability and medical malpractice claims

Analyse claims data for reporting to the Board

Manage and maintain registers, including liaising with the company’s hospitals and care homes to ensure accuracy 

Support with collating documents and bundles for litigious matters

Support colleagues with key transformational projects, creating and managing templates, proofreading documents and organising files

Manage licence renewals, support with legal research and provide general assistance to legal colleagues 

To be successful in this role you will:
 

Ideally have a Law degree or equivalent

Ideally have previous experience working within an in-house legal team or in a similar role

Demonstrate professionalism, quality and a “can do” attitude 

Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and achieves high level of productivity

Multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing demands

Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisors

Demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team
