Children’s Senior Support Worker

Atrium are recruiting on behalf of a client for Senior Support Workers to provide support to Children with Emotional Behaviour Disorders, Autism/ Learning difficulties. Each service has its own specialism, and has a dynamic and forward thinking approach to the child or young person’s issues.

Responsibilities include:

· Your most significant contribution is that of a professional parent, nurturing and caring for the young people looked after by the organisation.

· You will take a child-centred approach in providing high quality care that will enable each young person to grow and develop healthily.

· You will implement and maintain clear and consistent boundaries necessary for the creation of a safe and secure environment necessary for each young person to flourish.

· As the provision of high quality childcare requires team work, you will need to be an active and willing participant in all team activities (i.e. weekly team meeting, training, etc).

· You will need to be flexible in your approach to work, as on occasions you may be required to cover a shift due to absences allowing the children and young people to receive consistent care from recognised carers. To care for young people means that you will be required to sleep-in as part of a shift. 

Support of Staff:

· Ensure the day-to-day management is facilitated in a professional and competent manner. To promote professionalism and standards to the team in line with policy and procedures.

· Participate in regular staff meetings which are informative, produce action and are minuted.

· Provide support to the Service Manager and cover in the Deputy Manager’s absence and annual leave.

· To report to a manager/regional or other appropriate person, malpractice, suspicions or evidence which may suggest it.

Qualifications/ Experience:

· Essential - QCF level 3 award in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or Caring for Children and Young People

· Working within residential childcare Therapeutic work Child protection Work individually and within a team

· Supervision of staff

· Drivers License is essential
