Murray Recruitment has an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager to join their client who is a specialised Mechanical services contracts based in Glasgow.
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to mechanical engineering in various industry sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and transportation.
Projects will be up to 15 projects at any one time, ranging from 1 day to 6 weeks and value from circa £1000 - £500,000 installations.
Responsibilities include:
* Reviewing all handover information from the estimating team.
* Arrange site meetings/ site visits and prestart meetings.
* Plan all works including but not limited to job pack, programme, RAMS, CPP ( where applicable), drawings and sketches and material lists.
* Arrange plant/equipment and materials deliveries.
* Arrange engineers to attend through the Operations Director and Contract Manager.
* Keep clients informed throughout all works to completion.
* Manage quality of work.
* Manage spend and report on margin.
* Solve engineering issues.
* Report H&S issues to the Business Director.
* Snag jobs on completion.
* Occasionally price variations on your job and get instruction.
* Attend weekly Operational meetings for labour planning.
* Attend monthly job margin reviews.
Experience/skills
* SVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering/ Construction Management or ideally relevant Mechanically biased qualification.
* Experience in managing mechanical engineering projects ideally managing multiple projects at any time.
* Knowledge of HVAC systems ideally.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Offering
* Salary: up to £58,000 depending on experience.
* Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
