400kv Substation Commissioning Engineer - Dundee, Scotland - £Excellent Day Rate - 4 Month Contract + Potential Extensions - August Start Date

Have you got experience commissioning 400kv substation protection systems (transformers, feeder protection etc.)? Are you looking to commission a HV substation with the ability to gain high level SSEN authorisations? If so, please read on...

Responsibilities:

* Lead the commissioning activities for transformers, feeder protection, and quad boosters within 400kV substations.

* Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of protection relays, transformers, quad boosters, and associated control systems.

* Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of commissioning engineers, ensuring all activities meet project specifications and industry standards.

* Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning phase, working closely with engineering teams and contractors.

* Prepare detailed commissioning documentation, including test reports, procedures, and commissioning records.

* Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to project timelines.

* Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.

Requirements:

* 3-5 years of experience in commissioning protection and control systems in high-voltage substation projects, with a focus on 400kV systems.

* Strong proficiency in commissioning transformers, feeder protection systems, and quad boosters.

* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

* SSEN CAT 1-3 authorisations preferable.

* Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
