We are a manufacturing company specializing in high-quality components for the commercial vehicle sector. As we embark on an exciting phase of growth and transformation, we seek a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to lead our company into the future.

Role Overview

As the Managing Director (MD), you will be responsible for the overall management, direction, and administration of the company. Your role will include modernizing production methods, optimizing company structure, and implementing strategic plans for business growth and succession planning. You will work closely with the Chairman, who is transitioning to a semi-retired role, to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction to achieve the company’s long-term goals and objectives.

* Modernization and Innovation: Lead initiatives to modernize production methods and improve operational efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends and implement best practices.

* Business Operations: Manage daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Implement effective business processes and systems.

* Financial Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure robust financial controls and profitability.

* Human Resources and Succession Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive succession plan for key staff members. Foster a positive and productive work environment.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

* Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

* Sales Development: Develop a sales strategy and maintain strong relationships with long-standing clients.

Qualifications and Experience

* Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in the commercial vehicle sector or manufacturing moulded composite materials.

* Strong financial acumen with experience in controlling P&L, financial planning and budgeting.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of driving change and innovation.

* Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement long-term business plans.

* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels.

* Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques and industry best practices.

* Experience in succession planning and talent development.
