Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to provide a high quality, responsive service for patients in the Trafford community, working as part of the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service.

Main duties of the job

As an integral member of service, you will be working within the community helping patients stay in their own home, empowering recovery and preventing hospitalisation.

You will be responsible for:

* Carrying a caseload appropriate to role in line with banding and professional expertise.

* Interpreting and undertaking advanced clinical reasoning to analyse detailed/complex clinical and non-clinical information provided, making a justifiable assessment, contributing to the diagnosis and prognosis of a patient and to recommend the best course of therapeutic intervention.

* Utilising specific neuro therapeutic skills as required facilitating and optimising the treatment of patients.

* Be accountable for own professional actions guided by registered body and code of professional conduct and other broad policies and guidelines.

* communicating sensitively and effectively with patients and their carers to ensure understanding of their condition and gain informed consent.

* Utilising neuro experience and clinical knowledge to enable effective communication when dealing with complex/difficult patient situations where there may be conflict and a lack of acceptance of a diagnosis, care programme and/or home situation.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

* Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)

* Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience

* Enhanced DBS

* Experience of working within the NHS

* Car driver / owner able to travel to other locations within the trust using own vehicle (mileage paid)

Job description

The post holder will be responsible for the planning and delivery of Occupational Therapy within the designated area. Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/person centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

Qualifications

Essential

Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent

HCPC Registered

Essential Criteria

Car driver / owner able to travel to other locations within the trust using own vehicle (mileage paid)

Enhanced DBS
