Our client, a market leader for automated manufacturing solutions is looking to recruit a Senior Controls Engineer to join their team in Liverpool.

Reporting to the Engineering Leader, you will be lead representation of the controls teams activities according to the project schedule across a diverse range of industries, driving high standards for the company and its clients. Liaising with project teams, assembly/installation teams and hardware designers to deliver, professional, high quality, cost efficient and right first-time automation systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Provide a high level of skill in interpreting the customer’s and regulatory requirements to ensure designs are perfectly aligned to project requirement.

* Consult and support the Engineering Leader with project change control for Controls aspects.

* Approver of FDS/HDS/SDS documentation (GAMP5) through accurate interpretation of the RFQ / URS and internal customer specifications.

* Support controls designs team in technical feasibility and alignment to Project topology and gateway success.

* Approver of designs in programmable systems, PLC, HMI’s, Robots, Safety System, Drive System, Vision Systems, SCADA in line with Form 26 design specification including relevant regulatory requirement and application of risk assessment.

* Plan resource requirements with Project Manager and Engineering Leader, develop bespoke Controls Systems milestones in order for Engineering Leader to maintain the design status report of project.

* Co-write Controls RFQ’s plus technical levelling, Commissioning plan and FAT Specification with Engineering Leader and write bespoke elements of the Automation Summary tracker.

* Actively promote and lead Industry 4.0 technologies and practices to support the company’s digital strategy and its showcase offerings.

Experience:

* Minimum of 5+ years experience working for machine developers with increasing skill, knowledge, and responsibility level.

* 2+ years of experience in leading teams of engineers in multiple projects

* Good knowledge of a wide range of controls systems and technologies with an excellent understanding of the leading manufacturer’s systems, Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff, ABB, Cognex etc.

* Experienced within the manufacturing and assembly of automation processes and possess an engineering background in automation.
