Kenton Black are delighted to be working with a reputable accounting firm (part of a Top 50 group in the Bolton and surrounding areas) who are currently looking for a Audit & Accounts Senior to join the existing team.

As a general practice they work with a range of clients from new start ups and micro businesses to larger clients above the audit threshold.

JOB ROLE

-The role will involve preparing accounts for a portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
The role is very varied and will include tasks including the following:
-Preparation of accounts for owner managed limited companies, sole traders and partnerships to review stage, by processing data from the client’s records.
-Preparation of personal and corporation tax computations.
-Preparation of monthly management accounts.
-Bookkeeping duties using computerised accounting systems such as Sage and Quickbooks to enable the filing of VAT returns.
-Liaising directly with clients, answering their queries and providing on-going business advice. -You will be the first port of call for your portfolio of clients.
-Actively supporting and co-operating with other team members including mentoring trainees when required.

On the audit side, you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of client-based assignments, ensuring your work is of the highest quality. If you already have experience managing an audit team, this role will build on your experience of leading and coaching team members as well as managing relationships with clients.
-You will be working with a variety of clients to allow you to become a specialist in your chosen specialism.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

-Have around 5 years’ experience working within a small/medium sized accountancy practice. Ideally you will be AAT qualified or above, but candidates qualified by experience will be considered.
-Have excellent knowledge of accounts preparation and on site audits in addition to some practical knowledge of of taxation.
-Be confident to visit clients, assisting them to maintain computerised accounting records, which will require you to have a good understanding of VAT legislation.
-Be committed to furthering your technical knowledge and maintain your CPD which you will apply to your work.
-Be highly organised, motivated, and able to meet multiple deadlines.
-Have the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships while representing the firm and maintaining client confidentiality.
-Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
