Company Overview

We are working with an innovative manufacturer of safety products for multiple applications in their search for a new Process Engineer.

The Process Engineer will aid the supporting function in all Production areas of process and quality, including goods in and despatch.

This role will report directly to the Process Engineering Manager.

Job Description

* Responsible for ensuring that all safety requirements are clearly stated in the relevant Production SOPs.

* Constant review and improvement to ensure effective and efficient process re-engineering, training, piece-part flow etc.

* Recommend, innovate and implement revised methods and processes to ensure labour costs are in line with the Business objectives.

* Take ownership and lead for the creation and management of all product and process SOP’s.

* Take a lead role to ensure the team actively progress all NPI’s relative to their responsible product areas.

* Preparation of production area to ensure timely/effective product introductions. Validating requirements for jigs and fixtures as required and ensuring a detailed capital expenditure justification is produced.

* Ensure that production metrics are recorded and submitted.

* To provide the primary process interface between allocated manufacturing departments and Technical and Sales.

* Ensure all NPI actions are implemented within agreed timeline from NPI meeting / log.

Skills & Experience

* Degree Educated OR HND / HNC in an engineering discipline.

* 3 - 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing role.

* Proven experience of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and business improvement tools and techniques.

* Working knowledge of FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, 5-why, and SPC. (Yellow / green belt highly desirable).

* Hands-on Six Sigma experience and qualification is highly desirable
