We have an opportunity for a Management Accountant to join the Finance Team as an integral part of the Finance function, supporting the Financial Controller in providing high quality management information to all stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner. This role also includes line management responsibility of the Assistant Management Accountant.

Key responsibilities include:

Prepare monthly management accounts for Saffron Housing Trust and reports for budget managers, providing detailed variance analysis.

Prepare management accounts for Saffron’s subsidiaries - Crimson Developments Ltd and Saffron Housing Finance PLC.

*

Be the main point of contact for budget holders including preparation of annual budgets, meeting monthly to review year-to-date expenditure, providing re-forecasts for the year-end position, fielding day-to-day queries and challenging budget holders where appropriate.

*

Manage the financial reporting of additions and disposals of housing properties. This includes maintaining up-to-date forecasts of cashflows relating to housing development transactions, and reporting to the lenders and the Regulator of Social Housing.

Prepare VAT returns for Saffron Housing Trust and subsidiaries.

Our ideal candidate will have:

*

Qualified and registered with a recognised accounting body (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA)

*

Experience of completing management accounts and statutory accounts from start to finish.

*

Able to effectively communicate financial information to non-financially trained staff, in order to build strong relationships between Finance and the rest of the organisation.

*

High standards of professional conduct and co-operation, delivering high-quality service to other areas of the organisation and representing the Finance function in a professional manner.

*

Strong team ethic; able to work closely with the Financial Controller and Assistant Management Accountant to ensure accurate and timely completion of the management accounts.

*

Well-organised, methodical and analytical; able to plan time effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.

*

Strong skills in using common IT systems and software, particularly in Microsoft Excel. Able to manipulate high volumes of data into meaningful information.
