Machine Setter

We have a permanent position for a machine setter for a manufacturing firm based in the outskirts of Stowmarket. We are offering a negotiable salary of £13ph+ and there is the option for overtime.

Hours of work are 07:00-18:00, Monday-Thursday! You are required to work 1 Friday a month but this would only be a half day working the hours 08:00-12:00.

As a machine setter you will pay an integral part in maintaining production for the business. Your primary duty will be ensuring the machines are set up in time for the production team. You will also be required to carry out basic & routine maintenance on the machinery.

Full duties include: -

Ensure all machinery is ready for production in a timely manner, with delays communicated to the relevant personnel.
To be hands on as well as and work alongside members of the engineering department to meet the order dates and start times
Accountable for the performance of machinery & equipment.
Maintain product quality standards are adhered to and issues are dealt with in a prompt manner.
Ensuring documentation is updated to reflect any production changes.
Always carry out effective communication with other staff members
To perform the job in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, especially the Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities Policies.
To purchase spares and ensure all adequate parts are available.

This is an ideal position for someone who is looking to develop a role engineering maintenance but already has some experience with manufacturing machinery.
