We seek support workers to join our team at our two homes in Colchester. These homes care for young people between the ages of 16 and 18. We are looking for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people in care. The ideal candidates should enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, have previous experience in supporting young people aged 16-18, and possess a good understanding of Ofsted regulations and guidelines. Main Responsibilities

* Welcome young people to the placement and placement planning meetings are conducted in a way that ensures that the young person has an excellent induction to the placement

* Work in a trauma informed way

* Register young people with all medical services five days after them being placed

* To support young people in developing independent living skills through key work sessions that are consistent with their support plan

* Build positive relationships with young people.

* Support young people with appointments such as medical, legal, and immigration processes.

* Use a Young Person's Agreement, ' Support Plan, and House Rules to promote clear and consistent boundaries with young people.

* Keep logs to show a young person's day at the placement clearly.

* Chair house meetings and games nights

* Write and send monthly reports to Social Workers promptly.

* Attend LAC Reviews, PEP meetings, and any other meetings for young people with other professionals. Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed.

* You will be responsible for carrying out weekly Health and Safety checks within the building.

* Record and report any repair work or damage to the property to ensure it is kept to a high standard.

* Responsible for cleaning communal areas in Lavender Home and supervising the cleaning of Sunflower home where necessary and maintaining the homes to a high standard.

* Knowing and implementing all policies relevant to the job such as the missing persons policy

* Mandatory attendance and participation in team meetings tra, training sessions, and supervision.

Qualifications

Qualifications Health & Social Care Diploma Level 3 (or willing to work towards) A good level of computer skills is required

The successful candidate will have:

* Experience working in a Care situation preferably with children or young people or children (for example previous teaching assistants, foster carers as well as those trained in Care)

* the ability to build positive relationships.

* Excellent communication, observation, and written skills

* Willingness to learn

* Flexible to work various shifts
