Temporary position - 6 months rolling

As a Senior Planning Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

Taking a lead role in the development and delivery of planning policies, strategies, and projects.
Managing and assessing planning applications, providing expert advice, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape future development plans and improve the overall quality of our city.
Conducting site visits, preparing reports, and presenting recommendations to the Planning Committee.
Keeping up-to-date with changes in planning legislation and participating in continuous professional development activities.Experience:

Conduct thorough research and analysis on planning applications and proposals
Provide expert advice on planning matters to internal and external stakeholders
Assess the environmental impact and sustainability of proposed developments
Prepare reports and presentations for planning committees and public consultations
Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure compliance with planning policies and regulations
Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)Note: Due to the nature of this role, a valid driving licence is required.

Technologies:

Proficiency in planning software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD)
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
